@ijitdunn I truly agree.. I feel as passionate about music and enjoy singing too. Also my mom told me even when I was in her womb, she can feel me kick whenever Bach or Beatles is playing ;)

wow thats insane i couldn't imagine my life without music . while music doesn't influence my whole life it does influence a good part of it

well that's great to hear, i like all sorts of music. Andrea Boccelli, Bloodhound gang, Fatlip, MC Lars, Coconut Records, Dr. Dog, Passion Pit, Matt and Kim, and much more. I do have to warn though, with me at least, i don't like music when people first show me, but as i continue to listen it grows on me and i start to like it.

I mean the best thing is to find local talent you can support
Good music sites would include, pandora radio and slacker radio
But you should invest some time in exploring the local scene, because nothing beats good live music

This is so hard to hear. I have loved music since before I knew words...probably in the womb. Music is joy, hope, love! It is a thing that shakes your soul, and cools your head. It can make you think. It can make you cry. It can make you angry (in a proactive way)! It can express the things that prose can not. It can sum up a lifetime, or enshrine a fleeting moment.
This can not stand! One of My subs is an incredibly talented countryman of yours. We start by sending you one of my fav from him!

i agree with jckhllnd, if you like hiphop, there's a radio station on itunes called beatbasement. it's the old style hiphop that actually had soul to it. i went to my local clubs that mostly play bullshit, but every once in a while i find someone who i like and i go to more of their shows. it really depends on what genre you like though.

Like I said below, I've been forcing myself to like all sorts of different genres of music. It's gotten to the point where I'm not sure if I really like something or I'm just used to listening to it.
That's why I want to start a fresh. Focus on one album at a time. Try and rate it honestly for my tastes. Once I get a few under my belt then I'll start looking at the genres that I rate the highest. Really start to rediscover music and my love for it.
