@rcoles82 Its technically called afterfire. Backfire is when unburned hydrocarbons ignite in the intake system not the exhaust. The reason for the afterfire is because the ignition is cut when using the quick shifter while the bike ECU is still dumping fuel into the intake. In turn this is causing a rich condition and the unburned fuel is finally ignited by the hot exhaust sytem.

my 1300s only has a little backfire when i change up with the quick shifter

I also have a K1300s. Does yours backfire within the exhaust system on closed throttle at 5K?? I hear the "new" CA exhaust system is to blame..but I think thats BS. any advice >
