Secondly, if you knew anything about USMC "history", the term "devil dog" didn't originate from the Japanese, it supposedly came from German soldiers in the Battle of Belleau Wood. So if you're wanting to be guaranteed to see some real action with 12+ month deployments and see the fucked up part of "see the world," join the Army. If you're wanting to be guaranteed you MIGHT see some action with 6 month deployments and get a cake life, join the Navy or the Marines. Navy CB's see as much action as the Marines do, and it isn't guaranteed. Sorry to burst your bubbles with factual knowledge. Experience, not hearsay or shit I see on movies or videogames.

Stranger still is that it seems to be only really rampant amongst civilians with no military experience of any kind. The most of what i've heard you speak about is, "needing something to prove" and "not needing something to prove," yet, what i'm seeing is you saying that the most as if you need that to prove in it's own. If you've been to combat, or in a c-zone, then you'll state your OIF/OEF involvements and quit regurgitating every fucking thing that I say to you right back.
