The objectives of putting this video up on Youtube is to share authentic information, information gathered by visting reliable sources like archives, and reliable oral interviews on a very important part of our national heritage and history with future generations of Singaporeans. Syonan Jinja was a beautiful temple and it existed as part of our war history. In fact, by 2013, it would be 70 years old.
The NHB has gazetted this site as a national heritage site in 2002 but nothings was done to preserve the history of the area. If nothing is done, by 2023, excavations would be necessary to look for Syonan Jinja.

  • Wow, amazing, I have heard of it but always thought it to be just some small ruin. 30 steps! and the trough and mystery of the concrete discs? Could they be foundation for wooden posts which have rotted? Is there info on Japanese architecture of that time on how they built these structures? Anyway you must take me there when I am in Singapore.
