They have cleaned up the worst part of Nelsons potholes but it still looks rough through the carousel and approaching the fast left right complex before you are dumped on the front straight. Nelson is a great layout but both the physical facilities and the track need a lot of work. I fondly remember racing a FM in late October of 1996 there. It was snowing and we were going to play in traffic in 180HP formula cars on slicks. What could possibly go wrong in that scenario.

I've never heard of Formula First but it looks fun. What kind of transmission do they use and how old do you have to be to compete in it?

Formula First is an evolution of the Formula Vee class that has been around for about 40 years. We use a 1600cc aircooled VW engine. The transmission is also taken from the aircooled Beetle. The class is sanctioned by the Sports Car Club of America. In SCCA you need to be 16 to earn a competition driving license but some tracks do not allow you to compete until you are 18 (just a few).
