Ever wonder how it would look to transit the Panama Canal in two minutes flat? Cal Maritime Cadet Ancil Hoffman, a class of 2013 mechanical engineering student, put together a great time-lapsed video of the Training Ship Golden Bear transiting the Panama Canal during Cal Maritime's 2012 Summer Training Cruise. 288 cadets and 57 officers and staff participated in the two-month international training voyage that spanned approximately 8,500 nautical miles. In addition to transiting the Panama Canal, the Golden Bear visited ports of call that included West Sacramento; Punta Arenas, Costa Rica; Montego Bay, Jamaica; and La Union, El Salvador. those "little trains" are tugs, ships that pulls or pushes the ship, using a rope (rope used on board) or a cable to assist in some aquatic maneuvers.

Why don't they dig it deeper so that they don't have to use locks?

The music was fine. Young people like music videos. You must be an old fuddy-duddy.

What an interesting video! A fine reward for your efforts. I am one who thinks the music in such a video is rather unimportant. The visual content was more than adequately interesting.
