David Horowitz at UT Austin - Part 7 Audience Commentary

David Horowitz is a demagogue who routinely targets the "liberal" academy. He has published several books profiling liberal and left-wing professors, and is a advocate of "academic freedom" legislation that, if passed, would stifle critical thought in the classroom. While it's tempting to dismiss Horowitz as an ideologue who will just go away if we ignore him, he has gained significant traction in media and legislatures, and has helped create a political climate in which respected scholars like Norman Finkelstein are denied tenure for their provocative work. He wants to marginalize and effectively do away with feminist, gender studies, critical race, and a host of other important areas of study.

It appears that a comment made about mine has been removed. Too bad. It was about Socialism not being a "bad word" outside the United States... really? Thanks for the information. I quite honestly could care less if the Italians, the Greek, the Spanish, the French, the Latin Americans or even the Brits choose to live in chains. All indications are that after 60+ years, many in Europe are waking up. I will feel sorry for them as they will never have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
