"When Will My Life Begin? (Reprise)" and "Best Day Ever" fandubbed in Classical Latin.
Lyrics below in description!

This is Latin as in the language of the Romans, in case there is any confusion with Latin American Spanish.

I do not own Tangled or any of the music from the film. All is owned by Disney. This is for entertainment and educational purposes only and is classed as fair use under Section 107 of the US copyright act and European Directive 2001 29 EC. No copyright infringement intended!

The title of the film is "Rapunzella: turris implicata" which translates as "Rapunzel: the tangled girl of the tower".

The audio is slightly out of sync because of the blip in the video (it misses out the line 'Look at me, here at last') and because I recorded the dialogue and the song separately. I was impressed with myself for getting it 2 seconds out. Also please excuse the intermittent whirring in the background - I have a Sony VAIO and it has a fault with the fan, which I can't stop or remove from the audio.

I don't make any claims of being a good singer! Please feel free to use these lyrics to redub this. Just let me know so I can have a look :)
The pronunciation is that of Italian.

The karaoke version of this song is by MisticalMermaid.

Lyrics, dialogue and translation:

mundus est immanis et mihi tam proximus (The world is huge and so close to me)
ire in talia etiam audeo? (Do I even dare to go into such things?)
denique hic adsum, id facere debeo (At last I'm here, I have to do it)
opusne...? (Is there need...?)
minime. (No.)
en eo! (Look, I'm going!)
tango herbam et terram, somniavi tales (I touch the grass and dirt, I dreamed such things)
sentio me vocare auras aestivales (I feel the summer breezes calling me)
ecce cognovi tandem formam libertatis (Look! At last I've learned what freedom is like)
possum currere, ruere (I can run, rush)
persequi, saltare (chase, dance)
coma in confusione (with my hair in a mess)
celerique corde (and my heart fast)
volvere, volare (turn, fly)
tandemque putare (and finally think)
incipere vitam! (that my life is beginning!)

non possum credere me id fecisse! (I can't believe I did that!)
non possum id credere. (I can't believe it.)
non possum credere me id fecisse! (I can't believe I did that!)
mater iratissima erit. (Mother will be really angry.)
omnia bene agunt, num morietur propter quae non intellexerit? (Everything's okay, surely she won't die over something she won't find out?)
horribilis sum! certe morietur. (I am horrible! Of course she'll die.)
VITA EST PULCHRAAAA! (LIFE IS BEAUTIFUUUUL!)
ego sum filia indigna. redibo. (I am an unworthy daughter. I'll go back.)
ego redibo nunquam! (I WILL NEVER GO BACK!)
nullus homo me magis deridendus est in terra! (There is no one more worthy of scorn than me in the world!)
wooooohoooo! dies - est - optimus! (woooohooo! This day - is - the best!)

  • @charguigou I've posted a Pop Version of I See the Light - it's called "Lucem video" :) I'm going to do the duet version in Latin and Greek (Blepo fos) soon ^^

  • Could you do the same with I see the light ?
