Fairmont A5-C with EMD bronze bell

The A5-C "Cabbage Car" has got her bell temporarily installed. Running on shop air she has a nice ring and cadence.

Bell is a rough cast EMD bell that came off of B&M GP9 #1720.

Very nicely done! my congrat's to you there!. I too own a Fairmont A5-C gang car, but mine is 2 years older and has a Wakeshaw 4 Cylinder engine in it. I use mine at the Southern Michigan Railroad, we have a real railroad and museum, and welcome Motor car opperators all the time to ride our 11.5 miles of track. Again great idea, gives me a few to try with mine!. I am thinking about adding a 3 tone Chime horn from an ex- Milwaukee Road RS3.

Very nice! I just picked up a Leslie RS3-L for this car, so now it will sound just as nice. This car is currently out of service for a complete overhaul that I hope to have done by next fall. A completely new design sprung sub frame is currently under construction, giving it a ride like an A6 or A8

can you tell me where did you get the bell i want to get one to piss off my neibors because he parks his car too close to my drive way and he has a drive way to fit 4 to 5 cars and leaves it from 5 am to 9pm and he leaves it their and takes the other two cars out i cant stand that idiot
