Most car shows require a small fire extinguisher to be displayed with the car. I guess something like this is why! The extinguishers may be small, but if there had been several of them readily available the fire could have been put out sooner.
@HDridr2000 yes it is. our garage caught fire last may and my car was inside. all i could do is just sit there and watch 8 years go up in flames. all my trophies was in the garage and all my pics was in the car. i did manage to save my pics. the album was melted into the seat and we had to pry them up. i also manage to get my system out of the trunk. i howover can't get myself to test them
That's hard to watch... I know how hard it is to lose something you have so much blood and sweat in. The screeching sounds like the car's last gasp at life...
i know how the owner feels. our garage caught fire last yr and my car was inside. i had close to 14k in my car. i had almost every kind of mod i could put on the car.
All those cars guys around him just sat and watched....I bet you there was a grip of fire extinguishers. I have two in my car all the time....Sucks to see someone's pride and joy burn...Hopefully it was confined to the engine compartment.
Sorry to see this happen to anyone's pride and joy. I hope the damage wasn't too extensive, and can be fixed easily. Looks like under-hood wiring, repairs, etc, and maybe the interior upholstery that got too hot, but otherwise, very fixable given time. was this car original, or a modified hot rod? if it was completely original, that hurts even more, since parts would be harder to find vs a hot rod where everything is in the Jegs catalog.
@AMCMag Ive never been to a car show that required one, And Ive been to a LOT of car shows.
