(c)1989 NFL; NBC--Comcast
This part (a fragment of the Super Bowl XXIII postgame report following the San Francisco 49ers' thrilling 20-16 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals) begins with Dick Enberg and Merlin Olsen discussing the game; with Merlin suggesting that the Bengals defense having exerted so much emotion with the Tim Krumrie injury that they wore down, then discussing the 49ers' performance (Enberg then takes time to correct what Jerry Rice finished with. Following the winning touchdown to John Taylor, Enberg credited Rice with 12 catches for 222 yards; (Rice wound up with a Super Bowl-record tying 11 {with Bengals TE Dan Ross in the first meeting; since then has also been equaled by New England receivers Deion Branch [XXXIX vs. Eagles] and Wes Welker [XLII vs. Giants]} and a record 215 yards). Gayle Gardner then references the final stats.
Next is a partial spot for Pennzoil; with the recording picking up in the middle of an interview by NBC's Marv Albert (whose star could definitely be said to have been on the rise at this point) interview Boomer Esiason (who was so disappointed in the Bengal loss that he skipped the Pro Bowl the following week); followed by Bob Costas interview Ronnie Lott (who later referred to himself as one of the "Coke bottles" carried by the Pepsi Generation {many of whom were part of their successful 1986 draft}).
Following are spots for: Michelob, Dodge Spirit (in which the new car's design distracts a crowd waiting for a space shuttle to return), American Express (Dana Carvey/Jon Lovitz in the ad that won the inaugural USA Today Super Bowl Ad Meter poll), Bud Light (Spuds McKenzie knows when to say when) and a promo for the NBC movie "Brotherhood of the Rose" featuring screen icon Robert Mitchum, Peter Strauss and made-for-TV-movie regular Connie Selleca
NOTE: I intended to have an edited version of the Super Bowl XXIII close uploaded today, but the upload failed. The reason I had edited it was to remove the montage with Rod Stewart's "Forever Young" (shortly before my Market42Fan channel was shut down last year; the audio for the close of this game and Super Bowl XXVI were given the WMG treatment [forcibly muted] due to Warner Music Group having rights to "Forever Young" and Prince's "Willing and Able" respectively)
ich!!! I need to try and erase that creepy pedophiles voice from my mind.
I certainly agree, he needs to fire his lawyer. in this case, no news would have been infinitely better than a tape that will cause peoples skin to crawl.

Came to this video to find the "Montana / Forever Young montage"... I remember seeing it as a kid and to this day, every time I hear that song, I think back to this part..... Too bad it's not available for us because of corporate greed!
