  • Since the shrouds are in line with the mast, no tensioning or loosening was needed. If the uppers or lowers had been forward of the mast you would be correct.

    I have just seen your video of a A-frame assist in mast raising and lowering for the coronado 25 sloop. Would you have any hi-res photos of how the bottom ends of the a frame attach to the cabin top/chainplates? Is this removable or do you keep it on the boat? A photo of the v-connection would also be helpful.

  • I reckon the shrouds got tighter as the mast was lowered and had to be pre-loosened and monitored along the way to prevent the mast step from getting broke.
