  • In my division most of the team use a 4-4 defense like pearland and pasadena memorial would these reads work against this kind of defense

  • yes -- all that means is that the SS now becomes a Linebacker and he is tighter to the LOS and tac kle. Play-action is nice because the 4-4 is designed to stop the run. There are a lot of holes down-field as far as the passing game is concerned.

  • how does the curl-flat/swing read work when the defense is in cover 2

  • Yes, but now the corner becomes the flat defender

  • There arent to many people offering these kind of quality explanations, thankyou

  • Ideally I want him to use the seam-release when they are in a run type defense because it attacks the middle of the field. However, those backers were flying to the flat so the WR had to adjust his route. However, he has to be at a specific landmark at a specific time. Its not an offense where you run the dig to get open; the precise route will get you open. Its a philosophy. I want the QB to be able to throw to a spot blind-folded and know that the receiver will be where he needs to be.

  • Awesome videos, I play on a touch football team in the off season and im playing some QB for the first time. These videos have been teaching me a lot and has given me a better understanding of the game.

  • I would noe because I am a quarterback.

  • thank you for your advice aybe finally we will beat pearland

  • ok thanks

  • Good point ... but that is a two-receiver side and the LB was in his route path. The back was running the flat route so he had to use a vertical release. Sorry for the confusion.
