Refrigerator drips water every 7 hours when the freezer thaw cycle kicks in. The problem is that water drips from the rear of the control console which is screwed to the roof of the refrigerator and drips on to the upper shelf all over my food. The water drips from the area where there is formed styrofoam that directs cold air into the refrigerator section. I went to the Frigidaire website and it addressed this issue by saying this: "IMPORTANT: IF water is dripping onto the top shelf or running down the back of the refrigerator and collecting underneath the crispers --- SCHEDULE A SERVICE CALL. This condition requires a new part to be installed to correct the moisture problem." or the drain tube is blocked.

  • There is a simple way to fix that problem. These fridges are missing a little piece of (duct) tape to bridge a gap in the light assembly which also serves as water collector for the drain. You need to unscrew the whole piece from the ceiling of fridge, stick waterproof tape over the gap and put everything back. Saw it done 3-4 times already (I'm a building manager) and it works ;)
