We're not called YanksAtShea for nothing! Toby Wright, original Yankee Stadium organist (and the Yanks' Shea Stadium organist) from 1965 to 1966 and then from 1971 to 1977, was a wonderful performer and deserves far greater recognition as one of the best baseball stadium organists of all time. This audio clip with still photos, recorded in person by archivist Joey Cooperman during the pre-game of 4/15/1975 at Shea, is very entertaining. Hear the ambiance, including airplanes from LaGuardia too, of soggy Shea Stadium during the Yanks second season of play there. Toby's finest moments with the Yanks were the late innings in 1972 when he played "Pomp and Circumstance" upon reliever Sparky Lyle's dramatic arrival in a tight game. Enjoy this clip along with a handful of other organist Toby Wright moments at Shea Stadium presented by YanksAtShea.
