Continuation of the Tomb Raider 2 Walkthrough series. This video shows the first part of level 16, Floating Islands, including the location of both mystic plaques and the Jade and Silver dragons.
This entire level scared me as a child, not gonna lie. I mean, other than the boss at the end, it wasn't that bad. I'm guessing the statues are made out of the same or similar substance to the green stuff (jade maybe?) as the island. Still not really sure how you get there as it's been years since I've seen it played. Once again, an entertaining walkthrough. c:
@mcshol there's no official explanation but some people (including me) think this level is in another dimension. that's why there's no ground and no sky. you can only see some white clouds in the background. if Lara falls, she doesn't crush on the ground, just fall into darkness. all of that might be a result of the mystical forces that allow the dagger to change Bartolli into a dragon, since he stabbed himself, as seen at the end of Temple of Xian. hope it makes just a little bit of sense =)
How does Lara get to the Floating Islands from the cut scene in the Temple of Xian? I have never played this so I don't see the connection. It boggles my mind.
Cool. The Floating Islands must suck to get around in, but it at least has one advantage over Valhalla...An ELEVATOR! Rainbows send mixed messages. And apparently you don't even need a pin or swipe card to get clearance. You simply piggy-back in with the guy with the knife sticking out of his chest - "It's all good, I'm with the sacrifice."

Wow this level's landscape reminds me so much of O.D.T.

My favourite level of TR, surreal level design, great BGM, tough enemies and not too many death traps like temple of xian
