Romanian government has tight security for NATO summit

Security is tight in Romania as dignitaries from NATO states turn out for the biggest ever summit of world leaders.
Streets are cordoned off and there is a heavy police presence in Bucharest.
The Romanian government mobilised thousands of police officers, fighter jets and snipers to maintain security.
The summit will host no fewer than 60 leaders, partners and aspiring new members.
Afghan President Hamid Karzai and U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon are also attending.
U.S. President George W. Bush gave a keynote speech ahead of the summit.
He urged NATO allies to send more troops to Afghanistan.
He says the alliance could not afford to lose its battle against Taliban insurgents and al Qaeda militants. Decisions on the membership hopes of Ukraine and Georgia are also on the agenda.
Germany, France and a handful of other western European allies say that now is not the time to offer them membership.

@HTQCOMANDO there was no freedom during communism, the pay off of the debt left romanians in poverty (a smart leader knows how to pay off debt in an intelgient way, not just export EVERYTHING the country makes, tuis leaving your peopple starving) and the palace of parliament is disgusting; it is a symbol of megalomania and nothing more payed off with the money from the quasi-deportation of german romanians; causescu.was.only.-; fuck him!

What debt, Ceausescu left us a country with 0 debt and the arabs had to give us an excess 6 billion dollars + we had a hardcore industrialized country ! No comment on the housing tho. Schools, what do you whant to say ?

We had one of the best schools in the World and it was not that badly maintain as you want to show.

i'm sorry but that's not true! in the Second World War, Russia was worst! we, the countries between Germany and Russia know better... and in fact communists killed more people then nazi, because communism last longer. it still does. even today they do. take for instance China... and we have to thank "Mother Russia'' for all the "joy" brought in this world.
