Movie 23 - crazy wall writing tutorial

Here's a quick run through of the crazy writing on the walls you see in the movie "Number 23." I did all the work in Adobe After Effects 7.0, but these steps can be applied to any compositing software.

under the track matte option, you can select different matting options, the one I used was luma inverted, the matte layer goes above the layer you want to affect.

What Color Matting did you use??

color matte, no, I used a track matte "LUMA matte" to solo the layers, no color/hue selection needed since I am wearing such a dark contrast to the wall in this shot.

thanks, I know what you mean.  Everyone beats Kramer's tutorials to death on youtube. I must admit I've learned most of what I know from Kramer and other tutorials, but the talented people are the ones who can see the possibilities and create their own effects.
