If people would pay a reasonable amount more for meat- there could be guilt-free, cruelty-free meat of top quality. When money rules as it does in the USA, what you save in dollars you pay in something else, like humanity. This seems to always be the case. The law should be enforced, and the factory farms would cease to exist.

I worked in a kosher abattoir (Glatt) and the owners would sneak pigs into the slaughterhouse after the rabbis left and kill them with the same equipment that the kosher beef was processed on. Also- these people, besides paying the absolute miniumum wage and trying to pretend they were giving raises when the wage went up by law, would 'stun' pigs by beating them on the head with meathooks. The USDA guy pretended he knew nothing. The place was an absolute disgrace,as were the people who ran it.

@InfiniteRhombus step yes, but I dont eat the feet, guess Im a waster that goes to the dogs. Rolling if its happend its very rare, my pigs are behind portable electric fence and get moved every 3 days, not much time for shit to build up.... my animals arent kept like commercial confinement pigs.... I can actually go sit on a bucket and interact with my 600 lb pigs. besides who cares about a lil pig shit? it fertilizes the garden.

@gshdrums It overloads the nervous system and knocks the animal out. The convulsions are similar to a seizure where the brain is in electrical chaos (complete unconscienceness). The bleed out finishes the job.. IN A HUMANE WAY. This guy is an asset to anyone needing to learn how to dress a hog.
