A small river called "Kukdi" which is a tributary of Bhima River has formed this geological wonder. This river originates near Junna in Pune district which is a high rainfall zone and then travels to east in the medium and low rainfall zone. Near a village called Nighoj which is situated off Pune - Ahmednagar highwaya bout 68Km from Pune and 20 Km from Shirur (Tehsil village) has created these pothole. These potholes runs for approx 150m. You can see in this video how this terrain is, how these potholes must have formed and how they are still expanding !!
