Chrysler CEO Bob Nardelli Cancels Interview, Why? Looks like he later realized that Fox News did a story on him running Home Depot into the ground and how he was pushed out of the Home Depot for his failure to successfully lead the company. In fact after things had been going well at Home Depot prior to Robert Nardelli becoming CEO, Home Depots performance began to decline and Customer Service was RANKED DEAD LAST in an annual Customer Service Study of all major retailers.
Cerberus has appointed Robert Nardelli, as new Chrysler CEO who is known for iron fist cost cutting strategies at Home Depot such as changing full time positions to part time positions, implementing self checkout eliminating jobs to cut additional costs. While the so-called "New Chrysler" would like you to believe they are going to focus on the customer and improve quality, further cost cutting at the expense of the consumer has already started at Chrysler LLC. Robert Nardelli seems to have a policy of cutting costs at the expense of and ignoring customers. In fact things were left so bad at Home Depot under Nardelli's leadership, after he left new management had to setup a website, hotline and campaign to try and resolve the excess of customer issues that had been ignored.
For example, Chrysler Customer Service is now being outsourced to India. Chrysler executives have also stated that they will be cutting an additional 25 percent from parts costs, while quality is already suffering due to excessive cost cutting. Chrysler executives like Bob Nardelli just can't seem to stop cutting corners at the expense of the consumer.
