could some one please tell me if the ipad or ipod had to be 3g to use outside.

@MrHousty81 You don't need an internet connection to play or control the car. Your car will connect to your device (ipad or ipod) using a wifi signal and once your connected, simply run the application and your good to go. @cali4l The device connects to the toy using a wifi signal. You don't need an internet connection to play with the car. We use the wifi signal to control the car.
