Explanation of the song: The song is about a long distance love, so the first two parts are dialogues/excerpts of the lovers' corresponding. Probably through letter or e-mail since Noda uses "P.S..." Another point: In the last paragraph, the cowherd and weaver girl are part of a Chinese folklore(but the Japanese came up with their own). The weaver girl is the Jade Emperor's daughter. Things happen and the cowherd falls in love with the weaver girl, he brings her to his home on earth, the Jade Emperor gets angry, and she visits him in Heaven one day. He summons a river to flow across the sky (Milk Way), so she wouldn't be able to return to the cowherd. He took pity on her, and allowed them to meet once a year on the 7th day of the 7th month of the lunar calendar by building a bridge. Hence the river and the folklore references and all.

  • @LauraDkechan No, it's an abbreviation of 遠距離恋愛 (enkyori-renai), so it would be read as it is read in the full saying, enren.
