Nancy Pelosi made a boneheaded statement about unemployment benefits. She knows nothing about economics. If we follow her ridiculous logic then we should all just be unemployed, collecting "benefits" to stimulate the economy.

this pisses me off...I lost my job and it's so fucken hard to find a job these days...you think I like being on unemployment!!! but it is what's keeping me afloat for the time being...and now they lowered the maximum from 99 to 73 weeks, a 1/2 year reduction thanks to the Republicans. FUCK bush tax cuts, we are here partly because of these fucken bush tax cuts that did nothing to grow jobs or increase job salaries..unless you are a top 1%-er and/or who invests in tons of stocks.

The June 2011 unemployment rate was 9.2% with 14.1 million unemployed. (14.1 million/9.2%) = 153.2 million are able to work in the workforce. skilled jobs provided to illegal immigrants. 12.2 million jobs are taken by illegal aliens. The 14.1 million unemployed could take the 12.2 million available jobs if the illegals get deported. The unemployment rate could be reduced to 1.2% if illegal aliens are deported. {{14.1-12.2)/153.2}

Now April 2011 the unemployment rate is 8.8% with 13.5 million unemployed. (13.5 million/8.8%)=153,409,090 in the work force. Between March 2011 & April 2011 523,493 are no longer looking for work (154,081,632-153,409,090). This means the 216,000 jobs created is actually a net loss of (523,493-216,000)=307,493.

In November 2011 there was 15.1 million unemployed with 9.8% in November 2012. The total pool of unemployed was (15.1 million/9.8%)=154,081,632

I think Union will wreck this country. when employer want to fire screwed up employees, employer have to face union rep and you know the next strory. For union workers to get fired, he/she has to kill somebody. I am guessing still that union worker will be released free of charge because he/she is in union in my opinion.

I know a few guys who are on unemployment and they dont even bother looking for jobs... There're just waiting for the full 99 weeks to go by, in the mean time they are loving it... I peronsly dont hate unemployment but I think it should only last 8 months tops.

@Masthope 1. you still get unemployment if you get fired. You just get an 8 week penalty. 2. Nancy P. says unemployment gives back a $1.40 for every $1.00 spent. a bang for the buck, but not a BIG bang. If you want a bigger bang for your buck, DEFENSE spending returns $1.90 back to the economy AND gives cutting edge tech, AND FREEDOM.
