  • This could be the song at a wedding between Smurfs.

Would maybe sound cool with a choral sound stacked on top.

Does it sound weird if you go up in register? Does it play the sample really fast?

  • #1 The wedding dance at my wedding was played on the Optigan and I aint a smurf.

#2 The Optigan always sounds cool.

#3 It sounds weirder but works like a dream...Pitch and tempo are the same...faster tempo higher pitch.

  • ...and thanks for watching...

  • Of cooouuurse!!! HAHAHAHA! Ahhhh Good Times...

  • I have no Idea what you are talking about...? Using crappy unreliable equipment in a studio...you must be joking...!

  • Well, of course it was bad - it was essentially a toy. But you can never underestimate the power of spectacle - the Mellotron, for example. No, a better build, new disks, but with the same quirks as the old one factored in would be an oddity, but an asset in any studio. But you wouldn't know anything about THAAAT!

  • Well...The build quality of a Optigan is horrendous so it wouldnt be difficult to make a better one...but I have a hard time seeing people spending a lot of money on it...especially when you can find samples on line...

But sign me up for one if you decide to go ahead with the project...!

  • I think it all depends on marketing and what the records were - I think that the music community, specifically the experimental and, more profitably, the hip hop community would freak on an Optigan.

  • I wonder how smart financially a new Optigan would be...But you can do a lot with the discs...upside down, stacking...you name it...!

  • I didn't know you could do that - sweet! Someone needs to manufacture the Optigan again. What a brilliant instrument that was sold as a toy!
