Wow - the Allegri Miserere with no intrusive vibrato! This is a very promising recording, although the tenor line is a little ragged in places. The soprano soloist is really excellent. (I used to sing the same part as a boy, and I think less well than she does)

Geez, can nobody see the talent here and / or respect the effort?!
In a time when kids are playing video games, eating and drinking too much, and being right royal buggers (some of them). These guys are committing to working together and projecting their voices to the divine. The fact that they aren't professionals makes this version even more commendable. Cut them some slack.
200 thumbs up.

Was this Schola only or the whole choir?

OMG Jenny I can't believe you actually put this up haha. We haven't sung this yet with the current choir leader :( I miss singing this soooo much.

Nice song! But who's the naked guy?

@ guyjos I sit here in total relaxation and peace which is hard to come by, I read GYJOS's post about it not being vey good and the immediate thought that came to mind. Why say anything, why. Especially something insulting to othes while they enjoy this note by note. Why do people insist on opening their mouths just to let out their unhappiness. I on the other think that any voice like this, is ONLY a gift from the God on High. If you can do better, show me the link, I bet you dont have one

Impressive performance, both from soloist and choir. In which acoustic is this recorded? Used to sing in that choir 40 years ago. Good to hear that it is still going strong!

@villageorganist Ah! A fellow alumnus! It was recorded in St. George's in Douglas.

I'd have expected better
The intonation isn't brilliant - listen to the first notes of the tenor solo. The second chours should be a legato straight rhythm, not a staccato dotted rhythm like the one sung. The overall blend isn't that good either - listen for the 2nd Soprano especially.

@guyjos You expected better from a secondary school where most of us were 15/16 and the choir had only been trained to sing stuff like this for a couple of years. Wow...

Hideous misinterpretation. Crude and vulgar. Sentimental and botched. A "bit" American? "Iniquita-tay"!

Well give me your interpretation. How else could anyone say iniquitate?
