At 2:53 you can see a small hole in the fuselage to the right and down from your thumb. What is it for??

That's a small drain whole from inside the transmission compartments

The only advice I would say would be to take your time, and that when you add oil, place quart container of oil just enough over the oil fill tube on the engine so that when you do tip the 1qt container of oil over that all the oil goes into the engine instead of over it.
Don't try to slowly add, just place the oil container on it and the dunk it.
