"Rosie" is a lovely song, but it's never sung all in it's entirety at any point in the movie, so here it is sung by Nan Astley (Rachael Stirling), and briefly by Kitty Butler (Keeley Hawes) 'cause Nan nearly sung the whole thing except the overdub sax interlude had to come in to signify Flo falling in love (as if Jodhi May's acting wasn't good enough!). Unfortunately Kitty took it in a higher key than Nan (GAH!); perhaps someone with sophisticated audio editing software could smooth this out? :-)
"Rosie" was written by either Terry Davies, Adrian Johnston, Andrew Davies, or some combination. That's the best I can get from Google :/
Oh, I can go out on the town. To all the grand hotels.
Going it large till midnight. With all the London swells.
But it ain't any good at all.
I can't help remembering.
Can't help remembering.
The girl I kissed goodnight behind the wall.
Oh, Rosie. Do you remember?
The promises we made only last September.
Why did I have to go away?
We said goodbye with a tear and a sigh.
And whispered all the pretty things that sweethearts say.
You promised you'd never forget me.
I promised I'd always be true
Oh, Rosie. Dear Rosie.
There's a rose in my heart for you.
I die every time I see Jodhi May smiling
