Lorain is an awful place....that is what I thought when I left. But I did leave, and I wish I could take Lorainites everywhere I go. The place was never Main ST. USA for me, but the built in understanding of other cultures, and people, trust me you would be hard pressed to find that on either the East or West coasts (and I have lived on both.) For you Lorainites, lets not make Lorain a good place to be from, but rather a good place to be.

I grew up in Lorain, southside projects with memories of drug needles on our back porch and waiting for the first of the month so our family could finally buy some food again. I have lived in many other areas of Ohio and have realized how people in Lorain have their own mindsets. They are limited as far as what they can become and where they can go in life. Get out if you can and never look back. There is too much dysfunction there to be fixed.

I miss my home. I was born and raised in Lorain, and I miss it so much. When I left I didn't think I'd miss it this much! And when I saw this video, it made me home sick.

I'm not from Lorain but when i 1st visited i thought it was cool. They have a nice lakefront which has potential to be great if they do something to it.

I don't know much about this town, just know two people from Lorain, Ohio that I work with. I like and respect them. They're decent people with great work ethic.

@stoughton1 Its a done deal Lorain will never be what it used to be for one everyone has moved,there is no entertainment,no shopping,and the ppl are soooo small minded but dnt get me wrng I love the town I was born in.The only way Lorain wld be something is to get better city officials who actually wna see lorain prosper i kno this is old but put something on the water. I think the casino wld b a great idea i remembr bck in day they said it wld brng crime hmmm without it ppl are gettn killed
