Meet Damali and Amiel Reid, two siblings who are living with sickle cell anemia, and learn about their struggles with the disease and their hopes for a cure.

Damali, 33, has started a support group for other people living with the disease, and Amiel, 16, has spent a summer learning about sickle cell by working in the lab of Dr. George Daley, Director of Stem Cell Transplantation at Children's Hospital Boston.

Give patients like Damali and Amiel hope by supporting stem cell research at Children's Hospital Boston. Please visit the stem cell website http://stemcell101.org for more information about how you can help.

  • Ihave sickle cell as well, and i'm really glad that there are videos of this nature on the internet! I'm 19 and I have had a brain hemorrhage, two strokes and brain surgery on account of sickle, and though they have all been traumatic experiences, i believe that one day, all of us sicklers will be looking back one day in the future saying "Remember when we used to suffer because of sickle? I'm so glad that they found a cure". Can't wait for that day to come. All my fellow sicklers, stay strong!

  • @Siobhan0x stop calling yourself a sickler.....we are people with sickle cell disease!
