Nobody seems to remember the splatterpunk authors from the early 90s. If you want a true classic of the form search out "The Book of the Dead" anthology from 1989 featuring such stories as Joe R. Lansdale's "On The Far Side of the Cadillac Desert with Dead Folks", David J. Schow's "Jerry's Kids Meet Wormboy" and other stories by Stephen King, Edward Bryant, Richard Laymon, and Robert R. McCammon and edited by John Skipp and Craig Spector.
