I always loved that scene in that episode. Scotty wouldn’t fight the Klingons because they insulted his captain. But he would beat the hell out of them if they insulted his ship.

I’m sure that Scotty, Geordi, or any of the Enterprise’s chief engineers would fight anyone that ever insulted their ship. Especially Scotty. He took great pride in his work. It probably wouldn’t have mattered if that Klingon was 10 feet tall. Scotty would have still left him battered and bruised. I’m sure Geordi wouldn’t have tolerated anyone disrespecting his ship either without giving them a few lumps. He had a lot of pride in his work too.

Here's a question: We never saw it but would Geordi have fought the same for his Enterprises (D and/or E) if someone had insulted it as Scotty did for his? I'd think so. Any chief engineer worth his salt would.
