Randy Moss claiming that he is the greatest WR to play the game on media day. Jerry Rice had something to say about it though - the real G.O.A.T.

If I needed a career WR then sure I would take Jerry Rice. Such a great player and locker room presence. But for just one game? A young motivated Randy Moss could literally not be covered. He was the most dominate football player at any position I have ever seen when he bothered to try.

Randy Moss could of had a better career but that's his own fault not the QB's he played with, Jerry Rice was not as athletic but he had a big heart and never quit, pretty much what i'm saying is you can't compare Rice and Moss cause Jerry is the greatest WR to ever play in the NFL. Let me put it this way, Cam Newton & RG3 make more WOW plays than Tom Brady just like Moss did but does that mean their better than Brady, its all about what kind of person you are and the drive you have to be great.

Jerry can run any route in the game. Moss cannot even run a slant route without fear of getting laid out.

Being the greatest is not about how fast you run or how high you jump. It's your character. How well you play and how long you are able to do it. Rice was consistently one of the best wide receivers in the league over 2 decades. The numbers do not lie.

Rice dropped an 83 reception. 1139 yard. 9 TD season at the age of 39.

Moss is only 37 and hasn't done anything much since 2009.

I respect randy moss. He was in my opinion the most athletic receiver. But you have to look at numbers. If numbers dont matter then in that case im the best tight end in the game because i broke three tackles against kindergartners. Jerry rice was just unstoppable. If you watch the top 10 superbowl performances, at number ten the bengals head coach even said they knew it was going to rice they played every play to stop him but couldint they played him so close 3 players ran into each other

how new was it really? Rice got there in '85 we won 2 superbowls with it by then. but the likes of Joe Gibbs Bill Parcells or Buddy Ryan just couldn't figure out that new-fangled west coast offense that Walsh ran in the late 60's with the bengals? same west coast offense the Niners ran with Alex Smith in '05? guess it's gonna take 15 years to figure the pistol out. the pistol doesn't work JUST because it's a good idea. Kap is fast and accurate that helps. the players make the offense.

Reggie Wayne? really? did you ever watch Rice play? DB's were allowed far more contact back when Rice played. plus you could knock the hell outta them over the middle! in 2011 5 QB's threw for 5000 yards never more than 2 in any season before that. if the CB'S and safties are so much better the stats don't show it. also what people forget (or just don't know cause they are too young to remember) is that Rice was best AFTER the catch. no one took a slant to the house better than rice.

Randy Moss was wide open down the center of the field on the play where Vernon Davis had that big drop in the 4th quarter. Thats the QB's fault for not seeing him.
