Those distorted Kinks power chords certainly did affect the music that followed. Just listen to Zeps' 'Whole Lotta Love' and how Jimmy Page's riff or AC/DC's 'Back in Black' are inspired by 'You Really Got Me' and 'I Need You' or 'Til the End of the Day.' Sadly - and I could be way wrong here - the fact that Dave had problems with both Ray and Mick suggests the problem may have had more to do with him. Regardless, he was integral to the success.
