@DinahWest Those are some very wide words, and I respect that wisdom. However, just like everything other living thing, I have a threshold. My attempts to be temperate and patient are always overrun by tragedy, adversity and darkness.  The deepest bowels of hell know just where to target me; right at my heart. I have not lost my care for mankind, but my hope has dwindled to the smallest candle flame. No matter how hard we try, it seems that there is still no progress; only grief and despair.

@RothdeMan Unfortunately, as you can already tell, it would APPEAR that no matter what those who actually care can do, we are just not strong enough to stand up to those who only care about revenues and capital. It is really saddening. Please.. PLEASE do not throw me the 'beacon of light' parable, I don't carry the naivety I had when I was 9 years old. I have grown up now and I see things for the way they really are. It seems that humanity is gaining the world, and losing it's soul.

@LawdMyEyes Sorry, your attitude. Your service may have been great but if this attitude is what you now offer than was it all really in vain? My point wasn't to bash you but simply expressing concern because the world is going into a downward spiral and the worse thing that can happen is for good people to stop caring and close off themselves to folks that could use their Light in a dying world.

America does not pursue the vision in this song anymore. This country has been reduced to greed and small green pieces of paper. It is not about the people anymore. Our freedom is vain. That is why I cry when I hear these songs. I am constantly reminded that I serve a vision, not this country. May the world burn to a crisp and be wiped from the fabric of all creation.
