flycutting 6061 aluminium on a novakon nm070 (sieg kx1). 5000rpm at 1.8" = 2400sfm with a c2 carbide cutter. 15ipm feed, about 1.6" width of cut and .003" depth. the head is well trammed left to right(x), but seems to need some tweaking in the y. 2 paralell cuts side by side with about 1.25" apart yeild a step thats under .0005" but still noticable. at .75" apart the step is effectively gone. surface finish is acceptable, but i think i can do better.
all in all, a success, unlike my test flycutting 1018 steel.
