@thestoneagepodcast apparently I couldn't post this link in the post itself but I worked at bigcat.org (please visit and donate!). Also I was responding to @BillD2012 (forgot to put that in)

I completely agree that the tiger is stronger over all, but I think the question here was about pound for pound ratio. There really is less data on that overall so it's definitely debatable. Having worked at an animal reservation the reason I say the Jaguar was the strongest Lb. for Lb. is mainly because my coworkers and I always talked of how its ability to drag a 500-600lb horse carcass up a tree was astonishing considering the jaguar we had weighed only162lb.

@tadimetrie no because the jag is stronger both pound for pound and simply stronger.

why are there no jags?

@dmzko No, it is only relative, #4#. Tasmanian devils has the highest BFQ.

Hyenas are not the strongest among predators, #4#. They can't use their paws/claws, only jaws. That is why you hardly see any solo hyena hunters. In a fight against a big cat, say the leopard, being the closest in weight, they'd lose for this reason.
But leopard may not be the strongest big cats even. Some argue that jaguars are, with highest BFQ. But tiger has the highest muscle power, #4#. So the order should be tiger, jaguar, leopard. lions. If small felines included, many would get ahead.

@thestoneagepodcast No, it is the relative bite force quotion, BFQ, J has the largest among the big cats. But Tasmanian devils have the highest BFQ among mammals. for the absolute num, tigers bite is the strongest among cats, and croc even higher. And hippos bite is probably the strongest among all living terrestial animals. Even a croc would yield to a hippo.
Among cats, tigers legs are relatively the strongest, and being heaviest, it is absolutely the strongest among all cats.
