    I was a cop for 20 years and the movie was the ALL TIME BEST COP MOVIE. Yes the theme is right on all I wanted to be was retired. So I could take a crack at the good life. Michael McDonald had the right song SHIN SWEET FREEDOM

    No matter where you work in this job. The theme is the same all over. You count the days until you can get out and enjoy retirement. This movies was the best hollywood cop movie I have ever seen. The movie lines are classic. We used them all the time to each other and to the public. Thanks for posting this info You guys hit a home run on this movie and the song.

    I worked for MCA when this Movie was made. 1 of my clients was a Retired Captain of a county Police dept. that owned 10 Video stores. I looked up to this older guy. When this movie came out i told him, " I have something that you may like !", I gave him a screening Copy of this Movie. He called me at 11pm that same nite. My Little family was already in bed. So the Phone started ringing, It startled me. It was Rich, Half tipsy telling about the movie. He was also HYPED over this movie. lol (:0)7

    God I miss the 80s. I almost became a cop because of this movie. I remember wishing I had a best mate like that. Good times, sweet freedom indeed. I would kill for an ounce of that today.
