Wikileaks has obtained and decrypted this previously unreleased video footage from a US Apache helicopter in 2007. It shows Reuters journalist Namir Noor-Eldeen, driver Saeed Chmagh, and several others as the Apache shoots and kills them in a public square in Eastern Baghdad. They are apparently assumed to be insurgents. After the initial shooting, an unarmed group of adults and children in a minivan arrives on the scene and attempts to transport the wounded. They are fired upon as well. The official statement on this incident initially listed all adults as insurgents and claimed the US military did not know how the deaths ocurred. Wikileaks released this video with transcripts and a package of supporting documents on April 5th 2010 on http://collateralmurder.com

Years ago soldiers fought like men, these days the yanks just wont fight unless it is a turkey shoot. Unprofessional in the extreme. That gunner in the apache will live with his murderous actions for the rest of his life. A young mans conscience gets him when he is older. Suffer apache gunner, suffer, you fuck!!!

No atleast 3 were armed two with aks and one had an rpg that you could clearly see. And the dunbasses that brought their kids with them to pick up the bodies were stupid. We ask to engage because we only have a small window of opportunity to do so. Oh and not to mention that we had ground units moving in to there position and it's harder to use air support when u have our military mixed in with them

All those people were unarmed civilians and war photographers. That "AK" and "RPG" was a camera in fact. In this video it is clearly seen that soldiers just wanted to engage, they even kept asking permission to shoot them.
