@OmegaZero1213 Except Flay and Mana Khemia precede Gurren Lagann by about 6 months. So if anything, Kamina's based off of him. But drills aren't original to Gurren Lagann. Many super robots have drills starting with Getter-2. All robots in the Grungust series have drills. RyukoOh/KoRyuOh also has an attack called Over Tyrant Breaker which involves turning its hand into a drill and destroying the enemy. KoRyuOh came out in 2001.
