I personally believe that that the libertarian ideals of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is supported by the Quran.

At the very basic Principe's of Libertarianism, me are a self owning, personally responsible, person of purpose, entitled to property and basic self protections.
Islam at the most basic form is a system of established self owning, personally responsible, purposeful existence, with entitlements to basic self protections.
Personal Responsibility - 3:147, 17:35, 20:112, 40:17,
Purpose
Self
Justice - 17:33, 17:34, 17:36, 2:282, 3:18-19, 3:21, 4:58, 4:135, 5:8, 5:42, 6:151, 7:29, 10:23, 16:90, 17:33, 18:74, 25:68, 42:40-42:42
Both promote mutual consent 2:233, 4:29, 42:38,
Both promote mutual benefit
Both promote protection and justice - 17:31, 17:33, 17:34, 17:36, 42:42
Both promote lack of slavery
Both promote lack of thievery and usury - 17:33, 17:34, 17:35, 25:68, 42:42
Both claim that the person is solely responsible and have claim to themselves
Both allow for choice
Both are against force and corruption - 17:33, 17:34, 42:42,
Both are for self choice in governance
Egalitarian of choice - 17:29, 16:90, 2:177,
They are very much the same in aspects of society
Liberty
Self ownership
You own your life
To deny this is to imply that another person has a higher claim on your life than you do
No other persons, groups, or anything owns your life
Nor do you own the live of others
You exist in time
Future = Life
To lose your life is to lose your future
Since you own your life you are responsible for your life
Life is not rented from another person, thus requires no obedience
Past = Liberty
To lose your liberty is to lose your present
A lose of self identity and responsibility
You choose your own goals
Present = Product of life and liberty/ Pursuits
To lose the product of your life and liberty is to lose the portion of the past that that produced it.
A Product of your life and liberty is your property
Property is the fruit of your labor and the production of your time, energy, a talents
Property is that part of nature which you turn into valuable use
Property of others that is given to you by VOLUNTARY exchange and mutual consent is virtuous, and only those people can make the decision to do so for themselves.
At times some people use force or fraud to take from other without voluntary consent
To take life is murder
To take liberty is slavery
To take property is theft
All force and fraud are wrong and not virtuous
Whether done is groups or one person, no one has the right to take anything from anybody, unless that is the aggressor is taking from someone then defense can be applied to, for, and by the situation
Everyone has the right to protect life, liberty, and just property
Everyone one has the rights to seek help in defending and acquiring just property
Everyone has the right to designate person to lead them, but no one has the right to designate someone to initiate force against others on their behalf
This is regardless of the size of the group
No human has a claim on another human
Virtue is base on free choice and will
Virtue is mutually voluntary consent
Practical
Humanitarian
Ethical
Initiation of force causes problems
It causes the bullies to grow, making more problems
Stop asking the bully to initiate violence on your behalf in order to stop problems
Evil doesn't come from evil people, but from good people that tolerate the initiation of force as a means to justify their own ends.
Imposing personal views on others is wrong
Courage to think, talk, act
Remember, not everyone wants to be treated right. Some don't even know what virtue is. So if we treat bad folks the way theywant to be treated it will be unwelcomed. So, the golden rule is dependant on virtue, which is why I covered it.

Don't confuse liberty with Libertarianism. Liberty is one of many components of Humanism Philosophy that is based on respect of each others humanity. It is Liberty that rejects (authoritarianism) for self determination through democracy. BTW... one problem I have with Islam is it is authoritarian.

@AdogmaticEdwards Trust me. I know the differences quite well. As in Islam, I disagree 100%. The Quran doesn't say anything about authoritarian or democracy. Notably however, a careful study of the Quran will give the person the tools to chose what system they wish to live in. There is no compulsion in Deen. In that, there is not a set way that a human is to be alive. Hence, the Quran is free of that compulsion.

@AdogmaticEdwards I get the feeling that you are against the same "islam" that I am. I am not for a religion or doctrine or dogma or institution that I did not chose. I did not chose any of those and do not feel they are legitimate. I do accept the Quran and Allah and that which is found therein, but I do not accept Hadith. So, all that which compels a person to authoritarianism is not even on my radar.
I could talk more about this is you want to personally. Another day at least.

Libertarianism is a deadbeat political cult that lacks any balance between the individual and the society... Libertarians want freedom from social responsibility. All freedoms come from and are limited by responsibility we have to each other.
AdogmaticEdwards 1 month ago
@AdogmaticEdwards Freedoms aren't limited if there is virtue and mutual gain. That is liberation. Responsibility to those that are accepted into your construct (whatever the premise), is a mutual thing, and thus are accepted as part of your consideration.
If each individuals goals are life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness without trying to steal, murder, or enslave then the balance has been met. Too easy.
