everybody seems to think he invented this style. don't get me wrong he's amazing!! but what about Michael Hedges and Preston reed? they were more the forefathers weren't they?
-
We used to see him every year at "Music Live" at the NEC - he'd regularly chat with my sister with a little running joke of him tryin to get her to "fetch a cup of tea for a poor old man" - quite a character and a truly unique talent.

This is my fave Eric Roche performance. Magnificent, please buy some music from his website if you can afford it.

I've got that book, I don't think anyone could play this anything like eric though because he is just so unique, we can merely take his inspiration and try to create something only half as good, this is the kind of thing that only the person who wrote it can play it how it should be played

There are tabs in his book "the acoustic guitar bible"
-
tab? fuck it, I'd never figure it out.
-
@mechahalcon Yeah, it's a real kick in the nuts, although that wouldn't be as bad.
-
must be something with the name Eric and Prodigy

I was lucky enough to see Eric live. He kept apologising for 'not being upto par' on his playing due to his treatment. He was phenominal and he still left everyone open mouthed and also was a really funny, nice guy. A real inspiration!

@mechahalcon yeah cancer i think he was 32, i have his acoustic guitar bible with the tab for this song in it!!!now theres a challenge
What the hell, he's dead??? I was taught by this guy at LMS in Wapping about 5 or so years ago. I can't believe he's dead, he was a great inspiration to all who were taught guitar whilst had the pleasure of working with him.
