The creative brief:
• Build a 3-4 minute clip, including: video editing, scripting, graphic design, animation, sound design and directing voice over talent.
• Engage as many viewers of all ages - prime-time commercial TV.
•We want this clip to generate "a buzz" - get people talking about Uri Geller.
•Decide which archive material would be presented in clip and how to structure the promo for maximum impact.
•Aim to maximise responses from potential participants for the show.
The strategy:
*Create a clip that strikes a balance between the old Uri Geller and a new contemporary Geller, so everyone can relate to him ,not only people that remember him from the 80's. Secondly, give the illusion he never stopped being relevant and still has many tricks up his sleeve.
*Start the promo with a strong sensational event - Uri Geller recapping how he stopped Big Ben. Raise questions with the viewers - Did it really happen? How? Does he have powers? Keep watching, that was the idea.
•An Israeli international star is rare and Uri Geller is unique. Touch on this fact to manipulate viewers and let them bond with Geller.
*End with a question - "Do you have what it takes to be the new Uri Geller?"
