the movie is still about as special as it gets, but knowing that Levon despised the whole idea sure does shine a new light on it. R.R. was the only one who wanted to end things. amazing movie, but sad at the same time.

It is really quite tragic... you experience the film and just gawk at their mastery, all the while cognizant that this was essentially the pinnacle of their time together. I do wish they included more footage of Richard... Robbie's movie career never went anywhere, so the excessive editing seems a waste. Garth probably wishes he hadn't been shown at ALL, but... Anyway. I still absolutely ADORE this film, and lend it to anyone who truly appreciates quality music. The. Best. Ever.

@TheLazZzar if you read Levon Helm's book you would know that that was a false statement.

Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.
