STEPHEN - 1989 Newcastle earthquake short film

STEPHEN is a short film about the 1989 Newcastle earthquake and its affect on a young man as he deals with an undefinable loss in his soul, 17 years later...

Most filming was done in and around the small city of Armidale (in the beautiful New England region of North-West New South Wales, Australia), the landscape scenes were filmed just outside of Armidale at Dangarsleigh falls (notable used in the feature film "Superman Returns"). Some additional footage was shot in Newcastle where the earthquake occurred 22 years ago. All cast and crew were locally sourced.

The original version of this film was recorded, edited and screened publicly in 2009. This slightly re-edited and revised version was completed in 2011.

A big thank you to all the cast and crew who worked on the project including the teaching staff of the Armidale Film and Television School.
