Yes kind of dangerous.You can meet all kinds of characters with speed dating among the many different ways people meet people in New York If that Mike really did stood her up this only reinforces more suspicion between the sexes I dont know if I would even date a person from New York Id usually think its difficult to talk about anything personal with some people from New York esp if some people are really fastpaced Even having a foundation to talk to people on a personal level can seem shaky

I'm amazed at how many people are blaming HER for being stood up. Unfortunately, some of the comments may be right - "Michael" probably is a 12 year old kid. And even more unfortunately, human beings are very prone to being dishonest with each other and internet hook-ups only offer greaeter opportunities to lie. It's better to meet possible dates through friends.
