  • Obama gave his kids more time to pick a family dog than he is giving Congress to pass major healthcare legislation.

  • As the President said in Raleigh - no one is voting on this bill until Sept - Oct. Congress is about to go on August recess. If any Senators or Reps would like to take the bill home and read it over the break, they will have plenty of time to do so!

  • thanks - I'm also struck by all the people who say they don't want this reform but aren't offering any real alternative. Our current system is just out of control. Health costs have doubled in the last ten years - there isn't any debate about that. None of us, businesses, individuals, government, can afford for costs to double again. We're in the hole enough as it is.

  • What, exactly, is the President supposedly lying about? Can you imagine George Bush being even a tenth as in command of such a complicated issue? There's no way Bush could answer the questions and give the presentation on health care Obama gave today.

  • President Bush got a prescription drug plan passed when no other president could. So give him credit on that. Another government plan that I dont agree with. 90% of Americans have health care, of those 90%, 80% are happy with the coverage they receive. My concern about his plan is is the government plan going to be on the same playing field as the private sector. If not, the private sector will be gone in 5 years for regular people. Thats not choice now is it!

  • Well, Bush got a drug plan passed, but he didn't pay for it - we just added the cost to the deficit. Funny how all the people who voted for that are now so concerned about costs.

And I agree - most people are happy with their coverage and they should keep it. A public plan should be structured so it competes on a level playing field.

  • %90....does this poll include the millions of homeless ppl in our country....I think not...

  • that sounds like all politicians on both sides including your own party!

  • I assume you are referring to President Obama and his misguided socialist policies. I concur, he is an idiot. No way the American people are going to buy this propaganda.

  • The Dems have no solutions - they are only creating more problems.

  • The Dems won by focusing on solutions. McCain had none. Bush destroyed the country and people wanted solutions.

Bush claimed to be conservative, but violated every conservative principle possible; same way he violated everything else.

  • Lies, lies lies!

  • I think what he meant was before the recess he stated he wanted the bill by the end of the week or something like that giving about 5 days of debate on a major issue. If something like this is supposed to be so great I would expect it to take a long time. I mean the writers of the constitution spent MONTHS in a cramped hot ass building debating the constitution I would expect ATLEAST half that effort in healthcare legislation. I mean if its going to be done it needs to be done right.

  • Yeah but if they do that too much they stand the chance of getting sued if the government is running health care who is to blame for screw ups?
