Another great Oscar nominated song! Tony Martin stars as Bob Gregory in The Music of My Heart. Rita Hayworth co-stars.

The haunting ballad was written by Bob Wright and Chet Forrest.

Kudos to the one who can first name the 1970's nominated song that made reference to this one...

  • Superb legato. Back then Tony Martin was an excellent singer.

  • TONY MARTIN HAS NEVER RECIEVED HIS DUE AS ONE OF THE FINEST SINGERS EVER...HE SANG CIRCLES AROUND SINATRA..(WHO WASN'T REALLY A SINGER..HE WOULD TALK THROUGH HIS SONGS!)...THIS IS A REAL VOICE...USED WITH A STYLE NOT MATCHED SINCE..COMPARE THIS VOICE TO ANY TODAY...BUBLE IS A BORE...THE FIFTIES WAS THE GREATEST DECADE EVER FOR GREAT VOICES, FROM ROCK TO OPERA...LANZA, ELVIS.THE PLATTERS,BJORLING,CORELLI,DAMONE,ROBESON,WARREN, TEBALDI.PETERS...I COULD GO ON AND ON!

  • For all the fans here who don't know or remember one of his biggest hits of the 50's, "There's No Tomorrow" melody taken from O solo mio....... I was a small lad but it rings in my ears still and when I listen to it I am that small boy who loved his voice and song. He had a wild youth a bad marriage with Alice Faye but found Cyd and second part of his life was lived in style and dignity. Thank you and Thank you Tony Martin for the joy you gave.

  • @714AD Is he? Wow !! I wish I could meet him! :(

  • In 1940 or thereabouts Tony did one of those 15-minute fillers for between movies and sang the best version of :September Song" I've ever heard...wish I could find a copy or find it on YouTube...he was not only a grand singer but a fine man and we need some like him today...fat chance!

  • @ChristophePhilippe Just moved from his Wilshire (enormous) apartment to a Beverly Hills Senior Home. Still with it, just needs some nurse attention. Great man.

  • My god, he's still alive in 2011 @ age 97 and was performing in 2010. One incredible human being and he could have been a successful opera singer had he taken that route. Great voice.

  • Normally, singers with very fine voices rely too heavily on their voices and you ultimately don't get enough from them.

Tony Martin can give you chills.
