See when I first started to succumb to metal, when I heard terms like 'epic metal' and 'power metal' I did not imagine pop song melodies put to loud guitars and falsetto vocals. I imagined this.

@TonoFonseca hell yea...

synthesizers and keyboards are the best thing to happen to black metal. They unlock the true glory to a majestic nefarious lunatic masterpiece. Many of my fav metal musicians are actually keyboard players.

Why doesn't everybody listen to Bal-Sagoth? I will tell you.
Not everybody is cut out to listen to music of this calibre of epicness. For some people, the epicness is too much to bear. Fans of Bal-Sagoth can absorb the epicness like heat shield tiles on a space shuttle.

when most people think of black metal, they think only of poorly written lyrics, hatred,
and doom.
this song defies those ideas, as do all other songs by Bal-Sagoth

1:03 is quite possibly the most beautiful passage ever. It sets such an incredible tone, like I really don't know what to do with myself right now. Why am I just now listening to this.

Masterful lyrics about Anglo-Saxon heathenism and the importance of trees to our pagan ancestors.
This is one of my favourite songs by the mighty Sagoth.

I give you my hail,
I give you my blood,
I give you my life,
O' Bal Sagoth.
