On February 10th, 2008, "The Anonymous" plans a world-wide picket and protest against the sinister Scientology Corporation's many crimes and human rights abuses. This video offers some advice to "The Anonymous."

good point. i was just wondering because my friend lives in rural new mexico, and it reminded me of his place when you were talking about not being able to get into town because of the snow. i was really just asking out of curiosity, but i guess it'd be a good idea not to talk about where you live specifically in the same video where you talk about protesting scientology. in other words, never mind. i enjoyed the video.

Folks who live around here at 7,000+ feet are currently buried in 6 inches of snow: it has all the ranchers stuck for a day or two, unless they want to chance driving on the stuff. I've very glad I need not go anywhere!

Then "anonymous" misunderstood my suggestion. I was referring to the private investigators that the scientologists are supposed to hire to document the protestors. "watch the watchers" is a fairly basic form of social protest, it requires no pretense to being cloak and dagger at all.

Anonymous politely suggests that this is a very bad idea. Anonymous has no use for the personal information of Scientologists because Anonymous does not follow them home to harass them. Anonymous is protesting the fraud and human rights abuses of an organized crime syndicate. To pretend that this is a cute cloak-and-dagger game will lead to epic fail.

Scientology is both a worthy opponent for Anonymous and excellent practice for larger targets. In the process of dismantling the Church, Anonymous will gain new members and allies, as well as the respect of the general public.
